Metrios is the latest generation optical measuring machine. The materials selected and the construction techniques have made possible to obtain an instrument capable of operating even outside the metrology room. Its sturdy steel alloy structure, with appropriate stiffening ribs, embraces and protects the sensitive parts of the machine. Appropriate dimensional calculations, combined with deformation analyses, and three different temperature sensors, allow the reticular structure of Metrios to remain stable and linear as the temperature varies.
All the machining of the mechanical parts are performed on Cnc-tooling centres in a single set-up to avoid misalignments due to the repositioning of the elements.
The moving parts are reduced to a minimum to ensure maximum tool life even over multiple work cycles.
Metrios is designed for maximum ergonomics with both small and medium-sized components:
Metrios optical measuring machine operates without contact, using a system consisting of a high resolution matrix camera and three different lighting systems:
The vision system creates a high resolution image of the entire piece to be measured, which is then processed with powerful analysis software tools. The non-contact measurement technology combines high precision with speed and a rapid setup.
The measurement software we use is completely developed by
Vici Vision programmers. It is divided into two macro environments (production and programming) to combine easy use and maximum versatility.
Metrios production software environment is practical and intuitive: it is possible to operate the histogram or traffic light display on a 17" multi-touch panel on the machine that gives the operator an immediate good/reject result. From this environment the operator can load a "part programme", check all the measurements with a single click, print a paper report complete with graphs, monitor the drift of each individual measurement to perform tool correction by saving the data for statistical purposes .
The operator will see the real image of the piece directly on the monitor, no different from using the profile projector. In addition, the areas in which out-of-tolerance measurements have taken place can be graphically highlighted, allowing the operator to immediately check the degree of cleanliness of the piece, the presence of burrs or other anomalies that may have affected the measurement.
Developed to express all the calculation potential of the machine, the programming software environment allows customers to intuitively programme each individual measurement, managing and combining the different lighting systems together, but also including or excluding each measurement in the measurement reports, in the statistics or on the production operator panel.
To allow a clear view of the conditions of the detail to measure (size of detail, degree of finish, degree of cleanliness, fixturing conditions ...), programming takes place directly on the real image of the piece which appears with an identical orientation as it is loaded into the machine. This allows a simple and immediate reading even on small and symmetrical pieces.
The programming environment is also available offline: you can programme comfortably from your office while maintaining the same programming accuracy given by the creation of the programmes on the real images of the piece including the fixturing.
